Support Group Mourns With Ododo, APC Chairman, BOT Leader Over Mothers’ Deaths
A frontline pro-President Bola Ahmed Tinubu movement, the Forward With President Tinubu 2027 Independent Campaign Group (FWPT), has condoled with three prominent political figures over the recent deaths of their mothers.
The group, in a statement signed by its Director-General, Comrade Peter Ilefa, expressed sympathy to Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo; National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda; and the Interim Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Chief Sunday Ojei.
Ilefa described the trio as products of “rich motherhood and excellent parentage” whose late mothers lived exemplary lives that shaped their children into leaders of national relevance.
On the passing of Governor Ododo’s mother, Hajia Habibat Ahmed Alabi, Ilefa said her life of sacrifice and devotion produced a reformist leader for the people of Kogi State and Nigeria.
“She left footprints of excellence, hard work and determination in the sands of time.
“Her uncommon grace reflected in raising children who attained enviable heights,” he noted, urging the governor to take solace in the fact that his mother’s life was purposeful and impactful.
Turning to Madam Lydia Yilwatda, mother of APC National Chairman Professor Yilwatda, the group hailed her as a beacon of motherhood whose legacy remains outstanding.
“The prayer of every parent is for their children to soar higher.
” Madam Lydia achieved this by giving Nigerians and the world a professor and leader of Africa’s most populous political party. Hers was a life of fulfillment that deserves celebration,” Ilefa stated.
The group also paid glowing tribute to Madam Victoria Ojei (née Ndiogwu), mother of Chief Sunday Ojei, who died at the age of 92 in Owa-Alero, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to FWPT, Madam Ojei lived a simple yet fulfilled life that reflected longevity and strength.
“It is rare in today’s world to attain such an age.
“We thank God for her life and times. She achieved the prayer of every generation — to see her children live beyond her and accomplish greatness,” Ilefa added.
To honour the departed matriarchs, FWPT has declared a five-day mourning period across its nationwide chapters.
“May the souls of the mothers of our leaders rest in perfect peace.
Their legacies will continue to inspire not only their families but all Nigerians who cherish dedication, service and grace,” the statement concluded.
