Six law students from the Nigeria Law School, Yola campus, have been found after being kidnapped while traveling from Anambra State to Adamawa on July 26, 2025.
The students were returning to campus after completing their mandatory court externships and were preparing for academic sessions scheduled to resume on Monday, July 28.
They were traveling in a commercial vehicle owned by AJ Dan Pullo Transport Company, which operates out of Onitsha, Anambra State, when the incident happened. The kidnapping reportedly took place late Saturday night in an area known for criminal activity and frequent abductions.
The rescued students have been identified as Rev. Ernest Okafor, Ogbuka Fabian, Nwamma Philip, Okechukwu Obadiegwu, Obalem Emmanuel, and Obiorah David.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Udeme Edet, spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, ”the students were found and safely released early this morning, August 1, 2025. They have since been reunited with their families.”
The police did not provide more information about how the students were rescued but thanked the public for their support and cooperation during the operation.
